With the addition of modern web parts that are wholly different than classic web parts, you’ll need to determine at some point whether the thing you did in the classic experience will still work in modern. With names like “Hero” and “Highlighted Content,” it can be hard to find out which web parts are the same as, similar to, or completely different from their classic counterparts.
We’ve compiled this list of web parts analogs from the perspective of matching intention rather than trying to exactly match each web part at a 1:1 ratio. For this reason, you may see some classic web parts that have several modern web part alternatives as different options for accomplishing a task. In addition, some modern web parts are marked with an asterisk (*) that indicates they’re a community-created web part. We’ll be creating a package that includes all these web parts and installation instructions soon. Finally, it’s important to note that many classic web parts don’t have modern alternatives, either because the function has been deprecated or because it simply doesn’t exist yet.
